Teenage dirtbag ANGST.

It's been kind of quiet around the hospital. Granted, I've been listening to bones crunching since about five this morning and you'd be surprised how loud they were.

Healer stuff is going swimmingly. Quickly, but swimmingly. That was a lot of adverbs. Anyway, it's going well. I'm pretty busy but keeping busy makes the time go. And that's not such a bad thing. Hard to believe only a year ago NEWTs were still in front of me and all that, but there you are.

Think any more about those Wasps, Wil?

Hat.

3 June 1980

I haven't written in here since before Christmas, which is ages and ages ago. Since that time I have become an aunt to what is apparently the most adorable baby boy known to mankind since... I don't know who. BUT Nathan and Mere sent me a picture and I have to say, that they are probably right. He's exceptionally beautiful and I'm sure he's smart and such. He's certainly got my brother wrapped around his perfect little fingers, which I have to say is either impossible, or way, way easier than it looks. I can't really say.

I've also been busy, lots of studying. I'm almost to the point where I wonder how much information I can possibly fit into my head, but not quite. I'm sure I will continue to revise up until the last possible moment.

Anatomy books
Interesting reading make.
Xiphoid process, what?

Easy to learn bones:
Humerus, clavicle, rib.
Muscles less easy.

Muscles sound like shapes.
Trapezoid? Trapezius?
Who knows and who cares?

Heart beats thump-thump-thump.
Four chambers, arteries, veins.
All blood red, even blue.

Take that.

If anyone has need of baby-sitting services over break, for New Year's Eve maybe (Molly and Arthur? Maybe in conjunction with someone else since I know the boys are wiley? Someone, anyone?) I am totally available. Because the idea of going and standing in a crowded room of drunk adults and students who think they're adults, quite frankly, repulses me and sounds a lot like what I do here, minus the drunk part. I'll work for cheap, I'm responsible, and most importantly, I am smarter than your children.

Ravenclaw!

8 November 1979

The Roundheads they sat in parliament,
Messages to the king they had sent.
But still Charlie refused,
And so appeared rude,
And so they did not give him a cent.

The poor king Charlie took up arms thus,
And when parliament heard, what a fuss!
"It is treason!" they cried,
And then Charlie, he died,
But Cromwell said, "Fortunate for us!"

So quickly Dictator Cromwell worked,
For by Ireland he was most irked.
"Worse than the Scots," scoffed he,
And so set his decree;
On the declamation, evil lurked.

He set a scourge upon The Green Isle,
Town after town burned, bodies in a pile.
There was no escape,
Burn, pillage, and rape,
Worst of all? It was done with a smile.

To no one's surprise, Scotland was next.
Unpleasant? Yes, but please read this text:
Cromwell caused clenching teeth,
But under that all and 'neath,
It's Geordie that Scotland least respects!

Oh look, madness. When will things be back to normal?

Oh yes, and I'm going to be an aunt. SUCK ON THAT.

You're an idiot.

Okay.

Elita Montague, you are putting on clothes. Then I am meeting you outside Slytherin and we are going to see someone about your obvious mental deficiency problem.

I feel very silly for saying so and being excited over this when we have things like newspaper offices being set on fire by ne'er-do-wells like... well, like them so I'm just going to say it once, get excited with you all over it (those who wish to get excited with me) and then move on and be appropriately somber and contemplative.

I'M HEAD GIRL.

There, okay, that's out of the way. Now, seriously, burning down that newspaper was just really not all right. And people died? Come on, that's awful. I'll see some of these people in St. Mungo's later when I go to do my volunteer thing. What am I supposed to say to them? Get a hold on yourself.

Just. Come on, people, pull it together.

I've started the volunteer thing again, more hours this summer because, well, why not? I don't really have anything else going on, except of course Nathan's getting married in about a month (and I still don't have a dress except I don't think it's my place to panic about it, so I'm not!). Outside of that, it's all... well. It's all waiting for September. And August, when they announce the Heads and new prefects. AND TREVOR'S GETTING MARRIED IN LIKE A LITTLE OVER A WEEK! A-mazing, I say!

I have some new reading material. Non-fiction mostly, as if a Ravenclaw worth their salt would read anything else. (No offense to any Ravenclaws who happen to like fiction, or any fiction lovers or Ravenclaws at all, really. Call me a nerd, but I just really love a good history book or a good, surprising but factual narrative. Oh hell, I'll do it myself. Joanie, you are such a nerd.

Exams scores were great. Posting them would be bragging, but I'll say that.

That, and I am awesome.

OH YES and Gideon, cousin on the other side of the family, just qualified as an Auror. WHICH ALSO MAKES HIM AWESOME. Yes, Gideon = awesome.

Is it nerdy of me to be excited for exams? Well I am. I am EXCITED and READY.

Also for a wedding. Who doesn't love a wedding?

I never ever thought that I would say this in a million years, but I am getting very tired of studying, even if exams are coming up. For one, this journal gets pushed to the bottom of my bookbag, and I forget all about it until I uncover it once again in the great search for a quill for class. Which I did find eventually. Obviously, what else would I be writing with?

So, I am doing well in all of my classes, and I am more or less reveling in the fact that in about a months time (well, maybe a little over a month) I will be back in the halls of St. Mungo's, pushing the comforting weight of the cart of magazines and things in front of me and being a cheerful little helper to people who look lost. Although I swear, it must take a person with an IQ of room temperature to get lost in St. Mungo's. Compared to the school, it's just about the easiest building to navigate. Although I suppose if you expect that it's going to be complicated and then it's not, some people may just invent a reason for it to be complicated. Like getting themselves lost.

Nice to see that I am still proficient at talking myself in a circle. Wow.

So yes. Summer will be fun! Especially with this whole business about getting married. My brother getting married, I mean, I am just about as far as you can get from being married without actually being asexual. Sadly. I better be in the wedding, that's all I have to say. (I am going to be in it, aren't I? I'm pulling out my tartan and everything already!)

Nice Quidditch match, yesterday. But Ravenclaw is still going to smash you.

I guess things are sort of slow right now. The weather's getting wintery again, but I'm hard pressed to think of a time in Scotland when it isn't. I don't mind the snow. I like it, in fact.

Library has an interesting book on Muggles and their use of Arithmancy and what they're doing incorrectly and theories on their reasoning behind doing so. Pretty good read if you're so inclined.

Back again, and as a sixth year.

All's quiet on the front, except for those two first second-years, but as soon as Grant hears them, that'll change.

Ah well. Back to the grindstone and such.

I don't want to brag or anything, but. Damn.

I started at St. Mungo's last Wednesday, and it's a good time. I get to take this little magazine cart thing around and not run important people over with it really! and see some interesting things. Today this one guy had a sapling sprouting from his nose. I'm not sure how that happened, but he said (I think he tried to say this anyway) that he was scheduled for removal of that tomorrow morning. I avoided giving him a Herbology magazine, that would have been highly insensitive of me. I hope they don't make me work in the tea shop because that sounds less interesting.

Then again, free tea!
